| dc.description.abstract | This dissertation in Theology proposes an interdisciplinary reflection on the concept of Time, developed through dialogue between theology and the natural sciences, with particular focus to the work of Antje Jackelén. After analyzing the plurality of the meanings of Time in Physics, Philosophy and Theology, the study explores the relationship between Time and Eternity, culminating in a theological proposal concerning the creation of Time. Drawing on categories such as relationality, finitude and eschatology, it argues that Time is not merely a condition of Creation, but a place of revelation and encounter with God. The central claim asserts that Christian faith can only understand the Creator God of the Covenant as the One who truly assumes Time — to the point of being affected by history and pledged to a relationship with creation, with its apex in Jesus Christ. This theological horizon challenges classical models of divine impassibility and reinforces the coherence between protology, Incarnation, history and eschatology. | eng |
| dc.description.abstract | A presente dissertação em Teologia propõe uma reflexão interdisciplinar sobre o conceito de Tempo, a partir do diálogo entre a teologia e as ciências naturais, com especial atenção à obra de Antje Jackelén. Após uma análise da pluralidade de sentidos do Tempo na Física, Filosofia e Teologia, a dissertação desenvolve a articulação entre Tempo e Eternidade, culminando numa proposta teológica sobre a criação do Tempo. A partir de categorias como relacionalidade, finitude e escatologia, defende-se que o Tempo não é apenas uma condição da Criação, mas um lugar de revelação e encontro com Deus. O argumento central afirma que a fé cristã só pode compreender o Deus-criador da Aliança como o Aquele que assume verdadeiramente o Tempo, a ponto de se deixar afetar pela história e se comprometer na relação com a criação, cujo ápice é Jesus Cristo. Este horizonte teológico desafia modelos de impassibilidade e reforça a coerência entre protologia, Encarnação, história e escatologia. | por |
