Abstract(s)
This Final Report includes the entire process of my Professional Practice (PP) as part of the Master's in Music Teaching at the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP). This report is divided in two complementary parts. The first one, where the analysis and register of the journey carried out in contact with students as an intern at the Conservatory of Music of Porto (CMP). This includes all the activities carried out as a teacher, the observation records and the planning and analysis of classes. The second, in the form of a scientific article, aims to describe and present the results of the Pedagogical Intervention Project (PIP): “Study Methodologies used by professionals, introduced in the initial training of the Singer”. With this PIP, conceived and implemented through a scientific methodology, was intended to explore and motivate an active search for the improvement of individual Study practices of Singing students, contributing to their autonomy and better preparation for classes. The leading question of this research was: Will it be possible to contribute to a better motivation and preparation of Singing students, using methodologies that allow professional Singers to present themselves at their best, in rehearsals and in performance? The positive impact of the introduction of Study Methodologies on students' individual work practices is demonstrated by the presented reference indicators.
