Abstract(s)
The present report presented for the completion of the Master's Degree in Music Education at the Portuguese Catholic University is divided into two parts: the Professional Practice Report and the Pedagogical Intervention Project. The Professional Practice Report discusses the journey undertaken as an intern at Academia Fernandes Fão (AMFF) in relation to the professional groups M17 and M32 (piano and ensemble class), providing a detailed description of the observed and taught classes, the objectives, and the teaching strategies implemented throughout the course. It also includes an evaluation conducted by the master’s student themselves and the educational community involved. The Pedagogical Intervention Project Report focuses on the project implemented at Academia Fernandes Fão (AMFF) in Ponte de Lima during the second semester of the academic year 2022- 2023. Its objective was to support piano students in the specialized secondary education course (EAE) in their daily instrument study. The report took into consideration the students' needs and adapted didactic strategies to each student's profile, aiming to promote greater autonomy in their study. Four students participated in the activity, which involved autonomously preparing the lyrical piece "Matrosenlied" op. 68 by Edvard Grieg, with the support of video tutorials provided by the teacher over a nine-week period on the Google Classroom platform, along with supervision during in-person classes. The didactic tool was developed based on the prior identification of students' lack of autonomy and motivation in individual study, especially after the pandemic period, which substantially changed the paradigm of artistic education through distance learning and asynchronous classes.
