The school is the ideal place to implement healthy behaviors promotion programs in children and adolescents (Pender et al, 2015). The definition of health education meets the definition of health literacy as they result of the involvement of knowledge, motivation and personal skills, allowing a conscious decision-making and health promoter (OE, 2011; Sorensen et al, 2012). Adolescence is a crucial phase in personality development and therefore in promotion of healthy behaviors (Pender et al, 2015). Sexuality, as a central aspect of human being, is, in adolescents, a propellant point in health promotion, therefore it should be a focus for nurses in school context, where health education is essential. In that way, through Health Planning Methodology, it was developed a community intervention project, in a Community Care Unit ‘Saúde a Seu Lado’ in Odivelas, with two 9th grade classes. This was started with the situation diagnosis, with the survey of existing problems in the sample, through the application of Sexuality Knowledge Questionnaire of Carvalho et al (2017). All the phases of this methodology were followed, supporting the project in Nola Pender’s theoretical reference, the Health Promotion Model. The project evaluation allowed to conclude that existed a contribute for health literacy about affections and sexuality in the sample, the main goal of this community intervention project, not only by the verified increase of knowledge, as well as the awareness work accomplished with the students. Accomplishing this project, concurrently with the developed activities through the final internship, contributed for the development of master’s nursing skills and specific skills of the specialist nurse in community nursing and public health.
