Expectativas dos familiares de doentes oncológicos em fase terminal, face ao internamento numa unidade de cuidados paliativos

| dc.description.abstract | Introdução: O diagnóstico de cancro altera as dinâmicas familiares, influenciando não só o doente, mas também a família. À medida que a doença vai evoluindo o doente pode desenvolver diversos sintomas, sendo por vezes necessário o seu internamento. O familiar tem muitas vezes um papel quase exclusivo no cuidar, podendo sofrer de sobrecarga. O bem-estar do doente influencia o bem-estar da família. Do mesmo modo, os problemas sentidos pelos familiares refletem-se no doente diminuindo a qualidade de vida de ambos. Para se prestarem cuidados de qualidade ao binómio doente-família, é fulcral identificar quais as expetativas dos familiares face ao internamento, de modo a que possam sentir que as suas necessidades são compreendidas e satisfeitas. Metodologia: O estudo será qualitativo. Segundo a tipologia de Burkett será um estudo exploratório, transversal e observacional. O Instrumento de colheita de dados será um guião e a recolha de dados será realizada através de uma entrevista semiestruturada. Posteriormente será realizada a análise de conteúdo para processamento dos dados. Limitações: Os dados obtidos não serem significativos para outras realidades; a amostra ser reduzida, pois os familiares dos doentes que fiquem em agonia ou morram são eliminados do estudo; que o tempo para a realização do estudo não permita a saturação dos dados. Finalidade: Planear cuidados em função das expetativas dos familiares de doentes em fase terminal, num contexto de internamento numa Unidade de Cuidados Paliativos, tendo como intuito a melhoria da qualidade de vida do doente e sua família, elaborando um plano de cuidados centrado nas prioridades e necessidades do doente, mas também da família nesta fase final de vida Implicações esperadas: Não há implicações expectáveis para nenhuma das partes. Todos os recursos serão suportados pelo investigador, não havendo qualquer tipo de financiamento externo, apenas apoio do Instituto de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: The diagnosis of cancer changes family dynamics, influencing not only the patient but also the family. As the disease progresses the patient may develop several symptoms, sometimes requiring hospitalization. The family member often has an almost exclusive role in caring and may become heavily burdened. The patient's well-being influences the family's well-being. Likewise, the problems experienced by family members are reflected in the patient, decreasing the quality of life of both. To provide quality care to the patient-family binomial, it is crucial to identify the expectations of family members regarding hospitalization, so that they can feel that their needs are being understood and met. Methodology: The study will be qualitative. According to Burkett'stypology, it will be an exploratory, transversal and observational study. The data collection instrument will be a guide and the data collection will be carried out through a semi-structured interview. Subsequently, content analysis for data processing will be performed. Limitations: The data obtained are not significant for other realities; the sample is small, as the relatives of the patients who are in agony or die are eliminated from the study and the time needed to carry out the study does not allow data saturation. Purpose: Plan care according to the expectations of family members of terminally ill patients in a context of hospitalization in a Palliative Care Unit, with the aim of improving the quality of life of the patient and his family, developing a care plan focused on priorities and needs of the patient, but also of the family in this final phase of life. Expected implications: There are no expected implications.
