Abstract(s)
Aim: Identify risk factors and understand which are specific of men vs. women. Method: 18 individuals with a current diagnosis of an eating disorder (DSM-5; APA, 2013) of which 10 were women and 8 were men. It was administered the Eating Disorders Examination (Fairburn & Cooper, 2000) (only the diagnosis items were administrated) for diagnostic confirmation and the Risk Factors for Eating Disorders: Interview Schedule (Fairburn & Welsh, 1990) for risk factors assessment. Two groups were formed: the women’s group and the men’s group. Results: One risk factor was associated with women’s group (parental alcohol abuse before and after onset). One risk factor was associated with the men’s group (mental illness diagnosed before onset).
