Abstract(s)
todas as pessoas no momento atual.
ano, “A Pessoa Humana”.
In the last decades, profound social transformations have brought about serious educational challenges. Considering the transmission structure crisis and the phenomenon of personal and social identity fragmentation, specifically in the framework of Catholic Moral and Religious Education, emerges the question about the means and languages through which the subject can better respond to the task of educating the whole person and all people at this present moment in time. This Supervised Teaching Practice Final Report investigates upon the assumption that art is a rich and favourable pedagogical and didactic pathway for CMRE, in the framework of a cultural and mystagogical mediation of Christianity, fostering the dialogue between culture and faith, between contemporary society and the Christian proposal. Before the sum of possibilities offered by this pathway, it ascertains not only about the potential of analysing works of art as didactic recourses, but also about the potential of an artistic practice as a way of learning through experience. This Report concludes on the added value of Education through Art to the subject of CMRE, contributing to increase student’s symbolic skills, cultural and religious literacy, sensibility and openness to the transcendent. Finally, it presents a concrete proposal elaborated from the contents of the First Teaching Unit of the sixth-grade curricular program, “The Human Person”. It suggests that an alliance between religious and artistic education could be the answer to the present challenges in post-modern education and society.
