Abstract(s)
This work intends to present the entire path carried out during the Nursing Master's course internship in the Child and Pediatric Health specialization. The thematic of this work is centralized on Care Partnership, focusing on the relevance of caring based on child’s health maximization, transferring to parents the power to be able to achieve and establish an effective partnership between themselves and nurses. Along the path, this work was built based on the following models: Model of Care Partnership of Anne Casey which highlights parents as the greatest and best support in the caring provided to the child; Model of the (re)construction of the pediatric Care Partnership (MRPCP), "a new look on the pediatric care partnership" by Maria Goreti Mendes that points to Care Partnership services in hospital practices. The choice of thematic "Care in partnership: intervention of the specialist nurse in the promotion of parental empowerment", started from the idea of the existence of changes in Nursing Care services, mainly stimulated by the social, cultural and economic trend that we face today. However, these changes are caused by different realities that imply a readjustment in Nursing care services oriented to partnership. Care Partnership, aims to include families on caring services, empowering those to establish an effective partnership with the objective of providing the best possible care to the child, not only helping to achieve better results but also as an important factor of their parenting dignification and holistic care. The use of most recent technology combined with organization and caring services towards partnership, are undeniably a contribution necessary to the continuation of child's caring within their own family. Given this situation, it is of majority importance to stimulate nurses to work in a way of developing and improving the organization and correspondent planning on caring services and their own continuous training on this subject. This said, it is necessary to change mentalities adapting caring services to this recent reality we live in. During Unidade Curricular Estágio Final e Relatório, several activities related with the promotion of Care Partnership between family and nurses were outlined and developed with the goal of acquiring Specialist Nurse in pediatric health skills. Within this group of activities, I would like to highlight the contribution of leaflets and posters that were done for each internship context, with the main goal of promoting care services through transfer of knowledge and development of new skills. Nevertheless, I would also like to highlight the training performed to the nursing teams that aim the construction of a partnership between nurses and family, with of course, the objective of promoting this thematic. It was also through the continuous analysis during the internship and critical reflection of my own path that I have achieved the skills of Specialist Nurse in pediatric health, helping parents to maximize their child’s health in situations of extreme complexity.
