Abstract(s)
Tratando-se de uma constante da sociedade portuguesa, a emigração
assume-se como uma variável de relevo que deve ser estudada a fundo pelas
empresas que visam servir a população portuguesa como um todo. Com o
intuito de acompanhar este nicho de mercado, o Millennium bcp decidiu, em
2000, criar uma direção cujo único objetivo era o de estudar, analisar e repensar
todo este segmento, assim como a oferta financeira dedicada ao mesmo.
Enquadrado no âmbito de um estágio na Direção de Residentes no Exterior
no Millennium bcp, este relatório de estágio visa analisar as relações existentes
entre a evolução dos padrões e tendências da emigração portuguesa e as
remessas que nela têm origem, assim como pretende comprovar o seu impacto
na evolução da empresa, tendo em conta o seu targeting e posicionamento no
mercado.
Para tal, definiu-se como ponto de partida o estudo do fenómeno da
emigração. Assim, foram analisados volumes de emigração, variáveis
demográficas e principais países de destino, de modo a obter uma noção exata
da realidade aqui discutida.
Aliado a esta análise, foi feito um levantamento das estruturas que o
Millennium bcp teve ao longo da sua história com o propósito de apoio a este
segmento, até ao dia de hoje. Aqui fica-se então a perceber quais os principais
fatores de alavancagem de negócio ao nível das estruturas físicas e hierárquicas.
Finalmente, procedeu-se à análise da informação de gestão da direção, onde
se percebeu o forte impacto que as alterações ao nível dos novos padrões da
emigração tiveram na performance da Direção de Residentes no Exterior.
Since it is a part of the everyday life of the Portuguese society, emigration is assumed as a major variable that should be studied in depth by the companies intended to serve the Portuguese population as a whole. In order to meet this niche market, Millennium bcp decided, in 2000, to create a department whose only goal was to study, analyze and rethink this whole segment, as well as the financial offer dedicated to it. Aligned with an internship at Millennium bcp’s Foreign Business Department, this internship report aims to analyze the relationship between the evolution of patterns and trends of Portuguese emigration and the respective remittances and prove their impact on the evolution of the company, taking into account their positioning and targeting in the market. To this end, it was defined as a starting point, the study of the emigration phenomenon. Therefore, the analysis included emigration volumes, demographic variables and main destination countries, in order to get a clear understanding of the reality discussed here. Together with this analysis, a survey was made of the structures that Millennium bcp had throughout their history in order to support this segment, up to this day. Here we can understand what are the main business leverage factors, regarding physical and hierarchical structures. Finally, the last step was the analysis of the department’s management information, where the strong impact that the changes in emigration patterns had in the Foreign Business Department performance were perceived.
