| dc.description.abstract | O presente estudo, composto por dois capítulos, dedica-se à descrição de Maria nos textos da Sagrada Escritura em comparação com as suas representações artísticas. Na primeira parte, abordam-se os escritos do Antigo Testamento e as figuras que se relacionam com Maria nele presentes, sendo, por isso, um estudo em relato indireto. Nestes textos veterotestamentários, encontramos as figuras femininas de Eva, Débora, Rute, Ana e Esposa retratada no livro do Cântico dos Cânticos. Da mesma forma, encontram-se figuras inanimadas, como a Sarça ardente, o Velo de Gedeão e a Arca da Aliança. Nestas figuras, quer as femininas, quer as inanimadas, descortinam-se referências a Maria. Analisa-se ainda a profecia de Isaías 7,14, como referente a Maria mãe de Jesus. A análise de todas estas figuras, com referência a Maria, tem em conta o Magistério e a Tradição da Igreja, mormente através do estudo dos Padres da Igreja e de uma visão geral da evolução da Mariologia. Não se ficando por aqui, estudam-se também as relações com a Liturgia e a devoção. Procurámos ilustrar, com representações artísticas e com referência à figura em estudo, todas estas figuras, que são prefigurações de Maria. Na segunda parte, em contraponto da primeira, estuda-se Maria em relato direto, pelo que se abordam as ações, palavras e presenças de Maria nos relatos do Novo Testamento. Para isso, considera-se a presença da Virgem de Nazaré nos episódios da Anunciação do Anjo, Visitação a Isabel, Nascimento de Jesus, Apresentação de Jesus no Templo, Bodas de Caná, Crucifixão de Jesus e Pentecostes. Estuda-se também a visão do Apóstolo João, no capítulo XII do livro do Apocalipse, como referente a Maria de Nazaré. Para o estudo destes episódios da vida de Maria têm-se em conta, à semelhança da parte anterior, alguns textos do Magistério e Tradição da Igreja, passando pela devoção e Liturgia, procurando ilustrar, através de representações artísticas, as características de Maria. Ao longo deste trabalho, vão-se abordando as formas, cores e símbolos que são aplicados a Nossa Senhora; tal é feito a partir das imagens das representações artísticas que vão aparecendo no decorrer do texto. Estas formas de a representar pela arte são variadíssimas, pelo que se procurou ilustrar os temas que se vão trabalhando com diversas formas físicas de representar artisticamente a imagem de Maria. Para isso, usam-se ilustrações que vão desde a pintura a fresco em Catacumbas, passando pela pintura a óleo sobre painel, a iluminura em pergaminhos e livros, a escultura, o vitral, não esquecendo a azulejaria. | dc.description.abstract | The present study, consisting of two chapters, speaks about Mary's connection with the texts of Sacred Scripture, and her artistic representations. The initial part is about the writings of the Old Testament and the Mary's figures presented in it and, therefore, a study in indirect report. In these Old Testament texts, we can find the female figures of Eve, Deborah, Ruth, Hannah, and the Wife, depicted in the book Song of Songs. Likewise, there are inanimate figures such as the Burning Bush, the Fleece of Gedeon and the Ark of the Covenant. In these figures, both feminine and inanimate, references to Mary are revealed. The prophecy of Isaiah 7:14 is also analysed as referring to Mary, the mother of Jesus. The analysis of all these figures as reference to Mary, considers the Magisterium and the Church Tradition, especially through the study of the Church Fathers and an overview of the Mariology's evolution. We also study its relationship with the liturgy and devotion. In all these figures, which are prefiguration of Mary, we try to illustrate, though artistic representations and referencing it to the figure under study and his connection to Our Lady. In the second part, counterpoint to the first, Mary is studied in a direct account, addressing actions, words, and presences of Mary in the New Testament rapports. To do so, we have considered the presence of the Virgin of Nazareth in the episodes of the Angel Annunciation, Elizabeth Visitation, Birth of Jesus, Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, Wedding at Cana, Crucifixion of Jesus, and Pentecost. We also studied the Apostle John's vision in chapter XII of the book of Revelation, as referring to Mary of Nazareth. To the study of these episodes of Mary's life, as in the previous part, some texts of the Magisterium and Tradition of the Church are considered, passing through devotion and liturgy, seeking to illustrate, through artistic representations, Mary's characteristics. Throughout this work, the shapes, colours, and symbols assigned to Our Lady, are studied from the images of the artistic representations that appear during the text. These ways of representing art will be varied, trying to illustrate the themes addressed with abundant physical ways of artistically representing the image of Mary. For that, illustrations are used from fresco painting in Catacombs, through oil painting on panel, illumination on parchments and books, sculptures, stained glass, not forgetting the tiles. In all those forms of art that Mary is represented, she shines, comes to us. | pt_PT |
