Abstract(s)
A avaliação e gestão do desempenho organizacional, como suporte ao processo de criação de valor nas organizações, tem vindo a despertar, nestas duas últimas décadas, um maior interesse por parte de académicos e práticos, perante a intensificação da concorrência e o maior dinamismo dos mercados. Nesta nova envolvente, torna-se fulcral o alinhamento e a aplicação de ferramentas que possam fornecer informações precisas e oportunas, como é o caso do Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Mais recentemente, o BSC surge como parte integrante de um Sistema Integrado de Execução da Estratégia, o Execution Premium, o qual proporciona uma visão holística e integrada de um ciclo de gestão que liga a estratégia às operações.
A maior parte dos estudos sobre o tema tem-se focado apenas no BSC, pelo que pretendo, nesta dissertação, aplicar o modelo Execution Premium, através do método qualitativo com recurso a um estudo de caso, e responder à seguinte questão de investigação: “Poderá o sistema integrado de execução da estratégia melhorar a gestão do desempenho na Moldit?”
A análise detalhada das práticas da empresa tornou percetível a utilização de algumas ferramentas incluídas no Execution Premium e possibilitou a sugestão da aplicação desse sistema para consolidar o BSC já utilizado e, de certa forma, colmatar algumas lacunas na sua implementação. Conclui-se, assim, que o sistema integrado de execução da estratégia contribuirá para melhorar a gestão do desempenho na Moldit.
In the last two decades, the evaluation and management of organizational performance, as a support to the process of creating value in organizations, has produced a greater interest on academics and practitioners because of the intensification of competition and the greater dynamism of the markets. In this new environment, it becomes vital the alignment and the application of tools that provide accurate and timely information, such as the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). More recently, BSC has emerged as a central part of an Integrated Strategy Execution System, Execution Premium, which provides a holistic, integrated view of a management cycle that links a strategy to the operations. Most of the studies on this subject have merely focused on BSC, so in this dissertation I intend to apply the Execution Premium model, through the qualitative method, using a case study with the purpose of answering the following research question: “Can the integrated strategy implementation system improve performance management at Moldit?” A detailed analysis of the company's practices made it possible to use some of the tools included in the Execution Premium and allowed me to suggest a system application to consolidate the already used BSC and, in a way, fill some of the gaps in its implementation. Furthermore, through this paper it’s concluded that the integrated system of strategy execution will improve performance management in Moldit.
