Abstract(s)
In times that we speak of a cultural and anthropological crisis which affects particularly the family, Pope Francis invites us in his post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Lætitia to give special attention to the element of the family, for its great importance in structuring the person and society, as well as it is greatly vulnerable to ideologies, consumerism and individualism, all of which are characteristic of our society. Taking the challenge of further investigating some of the questions that regard the family in our days which were raised in the referred document, this paper aims at drawing a theological and pastoral proposal which answers to the crisis of the role of the father in the family and in contemporary society. Since the Christian concept of God involves a Trinitarian reality of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit which are one in essence and triune in persons and since intimacy and contemplation of the Father is the deepest desire of the human heart, it urges to restore the figure of the father as the primary key to understand the dynamics of God’s Revelation, the Abbá of Jesus Christ.
