A presente dissertação de Mestrado, é requisito parcial para a obtenção do grau de Mestre em Direito, na Universidade Católica do Porto. Iniciaremos o nosso trabalho, verificando até que ponto o contrato a termo é compatível com o princípio constitucional da segurança no emprego. Faremos uma breve análise sobre os requisitos formais e materiais para a celebração de um contrato a termo. Finalizaremos o nosso estudo, abordando as formas de cessação do contrato a termo e, em particular, os efeitos do despedimento ilícito no contrato a termo.
This Master's thesis is a partial requirement for the degree of Master of Law at the Catholic University of Porto. To begin with, we are going to check the extent to which fixed term contracts are compatible with the constitutional principle of job stability. After that, we will come across fixed term contract formal and material conditions. We will finish our study addressing the ways of termination of this type of contract and, in particular, the effects of a wrongful dismissal in fixed-term contracts.
