Abstract(s)
This study aim to explore the relationship between the use of digital health technologies applied to mental health, mental health literacy and the use of electronic media by university students. The sample included 139 participants and a protocol consisting of a sociodemographic questionnaire and characterization of the use of Digital Health Technologies (DHT) applied to mental health, the Media Activity Form and a questionnaire on mental health literacy (MHL) - young adult version. The main results obtained from this study suggest that the reasons for the use of DHT applied to mental health seem to be associated with the different levels of MHL and that the participants who are more willing to search for information on “help-seeking and first aid skills” disclose fewer stereotypes associated with mental health issues. The participants who use DHT applied to mental health for “self-help strategies” tend to perceive a lesser negative impact from electronic media. There results highlight the role of DHT applied to mental health in the development of interventions that promote MHL, which requires studies that can enlighten this theme.
