| dc.description.abstract | From the very beginning of Christianity, Sunday has been considered the main day for the Christian community, as it is associated with key events in the faith, such as celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the sending of the Holy Spirit and the celebration of the Eucharist. Though, over time, the community dimension of Sunday celebrations diminished, reducing Sunday practice to mere passive attendance at Eucharistic worship and strict fulfilment of the Sunday norm. This ignored the liturgical assembly as a community that consciously celebrates the mysteries of faith. Nonetheless, the ecclesial renewal of the Second Vatican Council restored the communal character of Sunday, particularly in the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist in parish communities (cf. SC 42). This dissertation aims to demonstrate that, because of its innate novelty, Sunday remains the day par excellence of the Christian community, and therefore the day of its edification and sending out on mission. In a socio-cultural and religious context characterised by new paradigms, this work offers a reading of the Christian experience of Sunday that is more community-oriented and helps to rediscover the beauty of a community that lives and celebrates its faith. Nourished by the Word and the Bread of Life at every Sunday assembly, this community must bear witness to the Kingdom of God in an ever-changing world. | eng |
| dc.description.abstract | Desde os primórdios do cristianismo que o domingo é considerado o principal dia da comunidade cristã, por estar associado aos principais acontecimentos da fé tais como a celebração da ressurreição do Senhor Jesus, o envio do Espírito Santo, a celebração eucarística e o descanso. Contudo, durante algum período da vida da Igreja, a dimensão comunitária da celebração do domingo acabou por ser ofuscada, reduzindo a prática dominical a uma mera assistência passiva ao culto eucarístico e ao cumprimento rigoroso do preceito dominical, ignorando a assembleia litúrgica enquanto comunidade que celebra conscientemente os mistérios da fé. Entretanto, com a renovação eclesial do Concílio Vaticano II, o domingo recuperou o seu carácter comunitário, especialmente na celebração da Eucaristia dominical nas comunidades paroquiais (cf. SC 42). Esta dissertação pretende demonstrar que o domingo, pela novidade que encerra, continua ainda a ser o dia por excelência da comunidade cristã e, portanto, o dia da sua edificação e do envio em missão. Num contexto sociocultural e religioso caracterizado por novos paradigmas, este trabalho pretende oferecer uma leitura mais comunitária da vivência cristã do domingo que ajude a redescobrir a beleza da comunidade que vive e celebra a fé. Esta comunidade alimentada pela Palavra e pelo Pão da Vida em cada encontro dominical, deve ser testemunha do Reino de Deus no mundo em mudança permanente. | por |
