Abstract(s)
The present study seeks to explore the relationship between the type of communication (i.e., formal and informal) and worker engagement and how this relationship is expressed in the different generations (i.e., Baby Boomers, Generation X and Millenials). All the data were collected through an online questionnaire, resulting in a sample of 157 participants. Despite the expectations, the results did not show that informal communication predicts higher levels of engagement in any of the generational groups. The limitations of the present study were discussed, as well its implications for future investigations.
