The main objective of this research is to systematically analyse the recommendations proposed by gender equality movements on the internment and care of LGBTI children and young people. With this objective, an analysis of national and international documents was carried out. The results highlighted and systematized a set of rights of the young LGBTI community, as well as several specific recommendations on the reception and hospitalization of LGBTI children and young people. However, there is no evidence of how these rights and recommendations are (or are not) being put into practice in Shelters and Educational Centers in Portugal. Therefore, it is recommended that future research be carried out with the aim of evaluating practices in these contexts.
