Abstract(s)
The current work exhibits a reflection theoretically based on school leadership, concerning the different roles I have already performed throughout my whole career as a professional in education: as a teacher, as a teachers’ group representative, as the general coordinator of class tutors, as the vice-president of the school board, as an assistant director and as the director of a large group of schools. My performance in the different functions, above mentioned, has allowed me to acquire concrete and updated information related to all the organizational policies, activities that were developed, the different dynamics, changes and transformations that occurred in the educational system ever since I started my teaching career. For its complete attainment and so that all the desired objectives may be reached, it is necessary for the intermediate and top manager to adopt the ideal leadership style. It is precisely on this theme that my research work is focused: to reflect upon all types of leaders/leaderships and their respective characteristics so that each may head in the most appropriate way according to the targets desired by the school organization. My passion for education made me feel this need: to perfect my leadership practice regardless of the educational functions I perform. Therefore, in an attempt to deepen my knowledge on this theme, I researched, reflected upon and wrote this theoretical dissertation.
