| dc.description.abstract | Introdução: Com a evolução exponencial dos Cuidados Paliativos a partir da segunda metade do século XX, surge a necessidade de obter dados quantitativos referentes aos cuidados prestados e à qualidade dos mesmos.Assim sendo, a performance dos cuidados e dos doentes são indicadores desta mesma qualidade pelo que se torna imprescindível a validação de instrumentos que permitam a avaliação deste indicador de qualidade dando valores fidignos. Para tal, esses instrumentos devem ser adaptados linguisticamente de acordo com métodos teóricos pré-definidos, à nossa cultura quer linguisticamente quer culturalmente, tornando assim num instrumento válido que permite fazer a avaliação da eficácia das intervenções, na nossa sociedade. Metodologia: Este estudo tem como objetivo realizar de tradução e validação linguística da Palliative Performance Scale (PPS), através de um método teórico que engloba a tradução para português de Portugal, síntese das traduções, retro tradução para o idioma original, síntese das traduções e revisão por um painel de peritos em cuidados paliativos e linguística. Resultados: Através deste estudo foi possível realizar de acordo com uma metodologia científica, a tradução da PPS para português de Portugal, atingindo assim o objetivo deste estudo. Conclusão: Com este estudo, será concluída a tradução e validação linguística da PPS, sendo que conduzirá à obtenção de um instrumento adaptado à população portuguesa, que permite medir a performance do doente e a evolução da doença, indicador tão intimamente ligada à sobrevida do doente e futuramente irá fornecer dados concretos que justificaram a prática de cuidados paliativos e a sua real necessidade perante os problemas dos doentes e famílias. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction: With the exponential evolution of Palliative Care from the second half of the twentieth century, there is a need to obtain quantitative data regarding the care provided and the quality of the same. Thus, the performance of care and patients are indicators of this same quality and therefore it makes it essential to validate instruments that allow the evaluation of this quality indicator giving reliable values. To this end, these instruments must be adapted linguistically according to pre-defined theoretical methods, to our culture, both linguistically and culturally, thus making it a valid instrument that allows the assessment of the effectiveness of interventions in our society. Methodology: This study aims to perform translation and linguistic validation of the Palliative Performance Scale (PPS), through a theoretical method that includes translation into Portuguese from Portugal, synthesis of translations, back translation into the original language, synthesis of translations and revision by a panel of experts in palliative care and linguistics. Results: Through this study it was possible to carry out, according to a scientific methodology, the translation of PPS into Portuguese from Portugal, thus achieving the objective of this study. Conclusion: With this study, the translation and linguistic validation of the PPS will be completed, which will lead to obtaining an instrument adapted to the Portuguese population, which allows measuring the patient's performance and the evolution of the disease, an indicator so closely linked to the patient's survival and in the future, it will provide concrete data that justified the practice of palliative care and its real need in the face of the problems of patients and families. | pt_PT |
