Abstract(s)
The critical disease situation of one person and consequent internment in a unity of intensive cares has a significant impact on the family everyday and life, where he belongs. They identify in the lived experience a set of needs, for which they try to find answers, highlighting in a very particular way the information needs.. Recognized the need for information from the family, it was defined as a central issue of the investigation: which is the position the information need occupies on the family experience of the adult person hospitalized in the ICU? From this we found three other issues that supported the research and interpretation of the phenomenon under study, namely, what information is meaningful? How family members acquire and own such information? How they use that information throughout the inpatient treatment? We wanted to know, in the family experience of an adult in ICU, the information meaning, which information they assume as significant, in which way nurses corresponded to their need for information; which nursing interventions make easier/ enabled their understanding/power of information, how the situation knowledge was monitored and considered by the service professionals The research is part of a qualitative paradigm, in which there’s a phenomenological approach. Work has been done according to van Manen phenomenological approach. In accordance with the author's proposal open interview for data collection was applied, from which analysis and interpretation took place. The Nvivo8 support act as a facilitator for the data organization and analysis process. The collected data allowed to list the key issues in a deliberate revisiting of the study goals. It is noted that all the essential subjects that form each analysis dimension allows the phenomenon characterization. Noting that the news generated restlessness; the acquisition of information makes it possible to slow down the restlessness; ownership of information allowed him to deal with the restlessness; the information that has meaning is that allowed to realize what restlessness; the significance it attaches to information resulting from the possibility to counter the restlessness; the sense found enabled him to dislodge the restlessness. From a systematic immersion in the data, the repeated reading of transcripts and themes, and conversation with them, the essence of the information has been achieved from the family experience of an adult in ICU, which drove away the unease living in him. Interrogation about exercise in care, education and research allows to understand the answer to the people needs with whom he interacts, such as information, will depend on the action intention, whereas learning and nursing care settlement is essential steps to consider and safeguard, in an educational and professional registration. We should refer to a joint construction in contexts and contexts, substantiated by a constant reflective exercise in specific and determinant matters, avoiding its generalization and trivialization. It is concluded that the need for information exceed the content matrix, considering that relatives hope and wishes to reach some peace, from the interaction with nurses. It is in a close relationship with the emotions they experience, that their initiative and hope is substantiated, and they try to build the attempt to drive away the unease living in him.
