Cyberstalking em jovens universitários : traços de personalidade em vítimas

| dc.description.abstract | Na última década, a crescente utilização das plataformas de comunicação perpetuou significativas alterações no processo de socialização humana, provocando assim um maior destaque social de crimes como o Stalking e o Cyberstalking. Ademais, este tipo de crimes ocorrem maioritariamente em crianças, jovens adultos e adultos, onde o acesso à Internet e às redes sociais é frequente, impactando assim de forma negativa as suas vidas, tanto a nível pessoal como profissional. Neste contexto, o presente estudo teve como principais objetivos estudar a associação entre traços de personalidade e o Cyberstalking na perspetiva da vítima., analisar o Cyberstalking e a personalidade em função das variáveis sociodemográficas, e identificar os preditores da vitimização no Cyberstalking. Tratou-se de um estudo de natureza quantitativa, do tipo descritivo. A amostra foi recolhida através do método de amostragem não probabilística. Para a recolha de dados, recorreu-se a um questionário sociodemográfico, à Escala de Avaliação do Cyberstalking (EAC) e ao Inventário de Cinco Fatores relativos aos traços de personalidade (NEO-FFI 20). Os resultados obtidos revelaram uma correlação negativa entre algumas das dimensões do Cyberstalking (Transferência para a vida real, Hiperintimidade, Ameaça e Sabotagem) e os traços de personalidade (Amabilidade e Abertura à Experiência). Verificou-se que indivíduos do sexo masculino, mais velhos e que atualmente se encontram numa relação apresentam uma maior probabilidade de virem a ser vítimas de perseguição online do que indivíduos mais novos e do sexo feminino. Foi ainda possível confirmar que indivíduos mais amáveis, abertos a novas experiências, com maiores habilitações literárias, são alvo com maior regularidade deste tipo de crimes. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In the last decade, the increasing use of communication platforms perpetuated significant changes in the process of human socialization, provoking a greater social emphasis on crimes such as Stalking and Cyberstalking. Furthermore, this type of crime is mostly frequent in young populations, where the access to the Internet and social networks is recurrent, in a negative way, impacting their lives both personally and professionally. In this context, the present study aimed to study the association between personality traits and Cyberstalking, analyze Cyberstalking in terms of sociodemographic variables, analyze personality in terms of sociodemographic variables and identify the predictors of Cyberstalking. This is a quantitative study of the descriptive type. The sample will be collected through the non-probabilistic sampling method, once the snowball sampling method is used. For data collection, a sociodemographic questionnaire, a Cyberstalking Assessment Scale (EAC) and Five Factor Inventory related personality traits will be used (NEO-FFI 20). The results obtained revealed a negative correlation between some of the dimensions of Cyberstalking (Transference to real life, Hyperintimacy, Threat and Sabotage) and personality traits (Kindness and Openness to Experience). It was found that male, older individuals who are in a relationship are more likely to become victims of online attempts than young and female individuals.
