Abstract(s)
The main objective of this study is to know the perception of adolescents in relation to homosexuality, thus we studied a sample of 166 subjects, 106 females and 64 males, aged between 15 and 19 years, with the Tree instruments feature: Escala Multidimensional de Atitudes face a lésbicas e a gays (EMAFLG), Escala de Crenças Explicativas acerca da Natureza da Homossexualidade (ECEANH) and the Sociodemografic Questionarie. The results obtained from the descriptive analysis showed that there is a higher prevalence of psychosocial beliefs and supportive attitudes. In the inferential analysis based on sex, it was possible to notice that negative attitudes of a flagrant and subtle nature are more prevalent in male participants, while supporting attitudes are more prevalent in female participants; with regard to beliefs, male participants revealed higher values in the Psychosocial, Biological and Psychological Beliefs subscale. In the inferential analysis according to the year of schooling, it was possible to verify that students in the 10th grade showed higher values in flagrant and subtle negative attitudes than students in the 11th and 12th grades. In the inferential analysis according to religion it was possible to notice that the participants with religious affiliation showed higher values of negative attitudes, than the participants without religious affiliation. Thus, the results obtained were generally as expected and were discussed based on the literature, taking into consideration their implications for prevention and intervention in this problem.
