Abstract(s)
The purpose of this research is to analyze and reflect about the phenomenon of body painting in society, and how it absorbs such cultural activity. To do so, have been elected two objects of study, which supports the process and its correspondences, the issues and its chances and a contextual dialectic, contemporary or not, of the correlations between South American Indian society and Contemporary European society. It is intended, in a first moment, understand and analyze these groups through the phenomenon of body painting, its applicability, circulation and visibility, and, specifically, its symbolic communication, as well as the possibility of using the body as a performance space. And, in a second stage, to understand how post-modernity, the transculturality, the use of symbolic structures and communication of the hyper-reality can be materialized in various media to relation on changes of contexts, as well as understanding the ecranized body as a reconfiguration territory of symbolic speech, a concept proposal for hiperderme. This research is supported by: CECC of FCH/UCP, Centre of the British Museum of Anthropology, University of Copenhagen, Malmöe University and Centre for Ethnology in Munich.
