Abstract(s)
The present work contains the report of the professional practice and the project of pedagogic intervention, accomplished in the Academia de Música da Sociedade Filarmónica Vizelense. On this professional practice report is included a framework of the institution where it was applied, as well as a detailed description of what was done, where we can find records of classes attended and classes given, as well as the summaries, comments and reflections of the same. The document also includes the methodologies used and the contextualization of the areas in which this project was implemented. Lastly, a reflection and evaluation of the results about the pedagogic practice is carried out, as well as brief comments about my relationship with the parents and about my integration into the professional group, ending with a brief self-assessment and a co-evaluation carried out by the students and by co-workers. The project of pedagogic intervention approaches the pedagogical principles of Zoltán Kodály applied to the practice of cello. These are mainly based on chant and traditional Hungarian music in order to simplify not only the education system but also the students' learning. With this research, emerged the idea of adapting that pedagogical principles to the cello practice as a way to improve difficulties and problems of tuning on the instrument during the accomplishment of the set list proposed by the discipline, using singing as a strategic vehicle. Another suggested way to encourage the students and to create a possibility to develop a perception of tuning, skill and focus in the execution of the instrument consisted in the application of traditional music, but on this case Portuguese. The songs were selected by the students, coming later to be performed on the instrument and sung simultaneously. Arrangements were also made of the selected pieces so that they could be performed on a cello duet.
