Abstract(s)
como instrumentos clínicos, a Entrevista Clínica Geracional (Cigoli & Tamanza, 2009;
Facchin, Molgora, Gonçalves, 2010), o Genograma e o “Family Life Space” (Gozzoli &
intergeneracional (Cigoli, 2009).
no entanto, a continuidade do crescimento e o desenvolvimento do processo vital familiar.
The present study, part of a relational-symbolic perspective with the purpose of understanding how the birth of a child with Trisomy 21 affects family dynamics. For this purpose, this investigation uses a qualitative methodology, in which the Clinical Generational Interview (Cigoli & Tamanza, 2009; Facchin, Molgora, Gonçalves, 2010), the Genogram and the “Family Life Space” ( Gozzoli & Tamanza, 1998), with the objective of exploring the conscious and unconscious family dynamics, looking for the meanings attributed to the family relationship, understanding the generational volatility and the process of co-construction of values and understanding the quality of intergenerational interchange (Cigoli, 2009). Two intact nuclear families participated in this study, one son diagnosed with Trisomy 21. The birth of the child represented, for the parents, the loss of the idealized child, which led to an increase in family stress and implications for family dynamics, however, from the comparison of the perspective between the family structure, similarities were identified in terms of the intergenerational family transmission circuits, in the main emerging values and in the ability to adapt when family situations change, without losing, however, the continuity of growth and development of the family vital process.
