Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho está inserido no âmbito da conclusão do Mestrado em Ciências da
Assistência Social. O tema escolhido está centrado no estudo do papel do Assistente
Social, bem como da sua prática profissional em contexto de Lar de Infância e
Juventude. Assim, numa primeira parte do presente trabalho são apresentados os
elementos teóricos considerados relevante para a reflexão acerca deste tema, resultado
de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, sendo que, numa segunda parte é apresentado todo o
estudo. A amostra é constituída por cinco técnicos de serviço social que desempenham
funções em Lares de Infância e Juventude do Concelho de Braga. O instrumento
utilizado para recolha dos dados foi construído especificamente para este estudo, sendo
um guião de entrevista aplicado junto de cada participante, numa visita à instituição.
Neste sentido, foi dada preferência à metodologia qualitativa para recolha e análise dos
dados, sendo os resultados referentes à importância que é reconhecida pelos próprios
técnicos na sua intervenção junto das crianças e jovens institucionalizados. Com este
trabalho pretende-se dar um contributo para a reflexão e pesquisa científica acerca deste
tema que integra, ainda hoje, algumas disparidades.
This work is placed in the context of the completion of the Master of Science in Social Work. The theme focuses on the study of the role of the social worker, as well as their professional practice in the context of Home for Children and Youth. Thus, in the first part of this paper presents the theoretical elements considered relevant to the debate on this subject, the result of a literature search and, in a second part is presented throughout the study. The sample consists of five service technicians who perform in social homes for children and youth in the municipality of Braga. The instrument used for data collection was built specifically for this study, an interview guide used with each participant, in a visit to the institution. Therefore, preference was given to the qualitative methodology for collecting and analyzing data, and the results in what refers to the importance of which is recognized by these professionals in their work with children and youth institutionalized. This work aims to make a contribution to the debate and scientific research on this topic that integrates, even today, some disparities.
