Abstract(s)
The present work has as main objective "To perceive the influence of the aging in tasks of memorization". For this, we studied the performance of normal elderly in several memory tasks. The sample of the study is composed of a group of healthy elderly people, being 23 men (60.5%) and 15 women (39.5%), which makes up 38 elderly people. We used the method of observational research, more specifically transversal, and there was no experimental manipulation on the part of the researcher. In order to analyze the relationship between the age and the performance of the subjects in the tasks explained, a comparison of means was performed, in this way, the One-Way ANOVA parametric test was applied, comparing means for independent samples. the distribution of the Dependent - Quantitative Variable in the different samples (Shapiro-Wilk test) and the homogeneity of variances (Levene test) were assured, and in those cases in which no normal distribution was observed, they did not reveal serious violations of this assumption. The results are discussed and presented based on hypotheses raised throughout the work and framed in the light of the theoretical foundation. There was a significant negative relationship of low intensity between Age and Verbal Memory with Interference. That is, the greater the age, the lower the result in Verbal Memory with Interference. Therefore, there was no relation between age and Memories (Immediate Verbal and Digits). Throughout the study, there was no significant correlation between schooling and performance in most of the evaluated variables, meaning that there is no relationship between schooling and outcome in any of the three memorization tests
