O presente trabalho visa a conclusão da adaptação portuguesa de uma escala de
rastreio intitulada AFASIC Language Checklist (pré-escolar) destinada a educadores de
infância para o despiste de alterações de linguagem e fala de crianças entre os 4 e os
5 anos. Participaram nesta adaptação 34 educadores de infância e 170 crianças, cinco
por cada educador, do Norte, Centro e Sul do país. Cerca de metade dos dados foram
recolhidos por Brito (2010) e os restantes recolhidos no decorrer do presente trabalho.
A escala apresentou uma boa consistência interna (α de Cronbach=0,80) e correlações
significativas entre as várias secções que a compõem. A análise da validade
convergente, efectuada com um teste formal de avaliação do desenvolvimento da
linguagem, mostrou também boas qualidades métricas, com correlações muito
significativas entre os dois instrumentos (p= 0,000). A escala revelou-se discriminativa
quanto à idade e não se verificaram diferenças decorrentes do género ou do meio
socioprofissional. Foi estabelecido um ponte de corte de 39 pontos que irá permitir a
sinalização de mais de 75% das crianças com perturbação mais grave, da
compreensão e expressão. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir que a versão
portuguesa desta escala constitui efectivamente um instrumento válido e fiável de
despiste do desenvolvimento da linguagem para idade pré-escolar e indicado para
educadores de infância.
The present study intends to complete the Portuguese adaptation of a scale screening, the AFASIC Language Checklist (pre-school), designed for screening impairments in language and speech of children between 4 and 5 years. Thirty four kindergarten teachers and 170 children have participated in this adaptation, 5 children per teacher, from the North, Centre and South of Portugal. About half of the data were collected by Brito (2010) and the remaining collected during the present work. The scale showed good internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.80) and significant correlations between the various sections that comprise it. Convergent analysis was made with a formal language development test that showed also good measurement qualities. The scale proved to be discriminatory for age and there were no gender or socio-professional origin differences. The results indicate that the Portuguese version of this scale is indeed a valid and reliable screening method of language development in preschoolers to be used by teachers
