Abstract(s)
This dissertation is the result of a consistent study of the sin: man in his fragile condition objective and subjective. Our theme and the goal we aim to achieve is the pastoral of the sacrament of penance, which reconciles man with himself, with his neighbour and with God. It is our intention to bring about in man more causes and reasons to live in the surety that man is the apple of the Creator's eye. God created man in his own image, after his own likeness (Cf. Gn 1, 26-27). Man is God's project integrated in a social background, not isolated as in an island. It suffices for man to know how to live, and how to live together, for his destiny to be his origin, God. Man's life is a gift and a process unfolding in a body animated by the Holy Spirit, and a complex one at that. Man either knows himself or does not know himself and tries to get to know himself, and on the other hand he is known to others. So is man! Our aim is the importance of man as the centre, source and culmination of all values, in spite of his base and natural limitations. Man is the measure of all things and, consequently, he has the ability to surpass himself till reaching God in eternity. No one can be defeated, except by oneself. Neither sin, nor the powers nor anything else can overthrow man! Man's will is enough and will is power. To sin is human, but remaining in sin is not human. It is for man to admit his weakness and to entrust it to God through a Priest, the sole physician to heal spiritual illnesses, and thus obtain God's merciful forgiveness and salvation. God gave man the capability to transcend himself so far as to attain eternity. Man's will is an inner power catalised by the Holy Spirit that renders man's heart contrite and drives man to repent his sins and seek absolution and the resulting forgiveness of his sins from a Priest, the Church's physician, annointed by God.
