dc.description.abstractNuma sociedade competitiva onde impera a cultura da produtividade e do lucro, que lugar têm as pessoas portadoras de deficiência mental? É a esta pergunta que procuramos responder, na presente dissertação, ao contributo de Jean Vanier em redescobrir o valor, o dom, o tesouro que são os mais marginalizados para a sociedade e como, ao contrário dos paradigmas sociais, através do seu corpo ferido, chagado e desfigurado podem revelar à humanidade a sua verdade dimensão humana essencial. Corpo ferido que ao ser tocado, pode transformar aquele que o toca e aquele que é tocado. Apresentar o corpo ferido e vulnerável das pessoas portadoras de deficiência como lugar físico e teológico que nos abre aos outros e nos revela o rosto de Deus escondido nos mais frágeis e vulneráveis.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractIn a competitive society where the culture of productivity and profit prevails, how do the mentally handicapped fit in? It is our main goal, in this dissertation, to provide answers to this question. The contribution of Jean Vanier in refinding the value, the gift, the treasure of those who are marginalized by society and that, unlike the social paradigmas, through their wounded, suffered and desfigurated body may reveal to mankind the true human dimension. Wounded body that by being reached can transform either the one who reaches as well as the recheable. To present the wounded and vulnerable body of those who are mentally handicapped as a physical and theological place opens our minds to others and revals us the hidden face of God amongst the most fragile and vulnerable human beings.pt_PT
