Abstract(s)
The world we live in is full of conflicts, of war, of poverty, of people who distance themselves from one another only because of their geographical origins and based on religious prepossession. We live in a time in witch solidarity and respect for differences between men and women is rare and the indifference to the suffering of the other becomes evident. It is urgent to turn this situation around and truly undertake God's plan for peace. The present study takes as a starting point the concept of peace and aims to analyze it in the light of the Christological literature, namely the pontifical messages for the World Day of Peace and the Encyclical Letter of John XXIII Pacem in Terris. Based on the knowledge acquired in this approach to peace, a link is made to education in order to support it as the preferred instrument for implementing God projects for humankind. By this way we opened the path to the understanding of the importance of the discipline of Religious Education and Catholic Moral in the process of peace building and find the way to justify the role that the teacher of this discipline plays in the consolidation of eager for tolerance, respect, dignity, love and peace personalities.
