Abstract(s)
The request for imaging exams is considered one of the first steps to assess the possibility of installing dental implants in patients. Computerized Tomography is considered the first option between the methods of obtaining images of bone structures, for reproducing a cut of the human body and generates images at the three-dimensional level, for diagnostic purposes. Thus, this study aimed to analyze, through a narrative review of the literature, the use of Computed Tomography in Dental Medicine, especially in planning for implants. The importance of this narrative is due to the provision of reliable data that will assist the Dentist in determining the position, the insertion axis, the number and size of dental implants and, also, the quantity and quality of bone tissue and structures surrounding anatomical features that are analyzed in order to obtain the best and most predictable results. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Computed Tomography in the dentist's daily practice has helped in diagnoses and in achieving greater predictability of clinical success.
