| dc.description.abstract | Em Portugal, o Acolhimento Residencial é a medida de colocação mais expressiva em meio extrafamiliar, objetivando promover o desenvolvimento integral, bem-estar e reintegração sociofamiliar das crianças/jovens, considerando a família como contexto primordial do desenvolvimento. Estas crianças/jovens, pelas suas vivências passadas, apresentam necessidades específicas, sendo que, para lhes responder adequadamente, é impreterível que se valorize a sua participação e se ouça a sua voz. O presente estudo procurou compreender a perceção das crianças/jovens acolhidas acerca das suas relações familiares e, acerca do envolvimento da família na sua vida. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, que utiliza como método de recolha de dados a entrevista semiestruturada, com recurso à foto elicitação. Participaram na investigação nove crianças/jovens de uma Casa de Acolhimento Residencial (CAR) do distrito do Porto. As principais conclusões demonstram que, apesar de identificados desafios e desejos de mudança face à relação familiar, existe satisfação. Ainda, o envolvimento da família na vida das crianças/jovens e nos assuntos que lhes dizem respeito, apesar de também ser percecionado como satisfatório, implica desafios para a CAR, no que respeita às atividades proporcionadas e, aquando a não resposta dos familiares, no trabalho dos cuidadores, os quais foram referenciados como figuras valorizadas por proporcionam bem-estar. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | In Portugal, Residential Care is the method of allocation most expressive in a non-family environment, aiming to promote integral development, well-being and social family reintegration of children/youngsters, considering the family as the main driver for development. These children/youngsters, due to their past experiences, present specific needs, and in order to respond properly to them, it is imperative that their participation is valued, and their voice heard. The present study sought to understand sheltered children/youngsters' perceptions about their family relationship and family involvement in their own lives. This is a qualitative study that uses as method of data collection the semi-structured interview, with usage of foto elicitation. Nine children/youngsters from a Residential Care Home from Porto, have participated. The main findings show that, although there are identified challenges and desires to change in the family relationship, there is satisfaction. Moreover, although family involvement in the life of children/youngsters, and in their matters, is perceived to be satisfactory, it implies challenges to the Residential Care Home, in the matters of activities that are offered and, when there is no response from family members, in the work of the care-givers, which are the ones referred as the most valuable figures due to the well-being they provide. | pt_PT |
