“Mock-documentary: editing between fiction and fact” is a thesis that aims an approach to the editing process in this cinematic subgenera, through the editing analysis and deconstruction of some “Mock-documentary” films and the genres that in some way, belong to this audiovisual hybrid - fiction and documentary. This last two genres will be defined also through their approach to the representation of the real. We intend to make clear what kind of editing processes reveal the formal and narrative goals of the “Mock-documentary” films and also explore their contribution to a reflexion about the codes and conventions that are established in the documentary style. We base our research not only in a theoretical way, but also through the criation of a project named “Artur”, a “Mock-documentary” about an unknown portuguese filmmaker.
