Abstract(s)
This report is part of the Master’s Degree in Nursing with Specialization in Medical-Surgical Nursing, from the Institute of Health Sciences of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, integrated in the curricular unit "Final stage and report". This one describes the trajectory of the student in the different places of internship, reporting interventions and skills acquired in her area of specialization, with the purpose of serving as a certification instrument to obtain the master's degree. The student performed an internship in an Emergency Department in a Monovalent Intensive Care Unit, directed to the cardiac forum, both in the Metropolitan Area of Porto. The methodology chosen for the realization of this instrument was descriptive and reflexive, supported by a current bibliographical research, published in the last five years, in order to base critical-reflexive thinking. From this academic course, I highlight the realization of a research, called "Professional Stress of Nurses", which emerged from the concern to identify which factors negatively affect the mental health of these professionals. The current situation of the nursing career, was also the impeller to direct her area of investigation. The elaboration of the intervention project and the critical-reflexive reflection of the clinical practice allowed the acquisition and development of competences defined by the Regulation of the Common Competences of the Specialist Nurse. This course gave rise to new opportunities in the professional life of the student, which allowed a different view of care. In the area of nursing, learning is something continuous, which is constantly updated and for this reason, the student will carry skills as a nurse specialist, exercising their clinical practice based on scientific evidence.
