No presente estudo exploratório, pretende-se verificar a relação entre a qualidade
de vida e estilos de coping em pessoas com diagnóstico de esquizofrenia
institucionalizadas. Para tal, 37 pessoas com diagnóstico de esquizofrenia, foram
avaliadas tendo em relevância os domínios considerados fulcrais para a consecução
deste estudo recorrendo aos seguintes teste: Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE),
Questionário reduzido de Saúde (SF-36) e Brief- Cope. Os resultados deste estudo
indicam que as pessoas com diagnóstico de esquizofrenia apresentam uma qualidade de
vida moderada alta e que apesar de estarem internados à longos anos apresentam níveis
de boa qualidade de vida. Relativamente às estratégias de coping o estudo demonstra
que este doentes apresentam níveis baixo de estratégias e com os anos de internamento
piora.
In this exploratory study intends to examine the relationship between quality of life and coping styles in people with schizophrenia institutionalized. To this end, 37 people diagnosed with schizophrenia were assessed in the relevant areas considered central to the achievement of this study through the following tests: Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE), reduced from Health Survey (SF-36) and Brief-Cope .The results of this study indicate that people with schizophrenia have a moderately high quality of life and that despite being admitted to the long years have levels of quality of life. For the coping strategies the study demonstrates that patients have low levels of strategies and the years of internment worsened.
