Marranita CI. Bioética e Enfermagem: pontes e barreiras entre a imagem do bom
enfermeiro e a Enfermagem como prática profissional. Lisboa; 2012. [Tese de Mestrado
– Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP)].
Estudo qualitativo, no qual foram entrevistados 16 enfermeiros docentes a tempo integral
na UCP de Lisboa, com os objetivos de identificar, na perspetiva de formadores de futuros
profissionais de enfermagem, pontes e barreiras entre o que é ser um bom enfermeiro e a
enfermagem enquanto prática profissional. Num primeiro momento da entrevista, solicitouse
aos docentes que escolhessem de entre um rol de fotografias pré-selecionadas a que
melhor traduzisse o que é ser enfermeiro, justificando a sua escolha, em seguida pedia-se o
descrevessem enquanto bom enfermeiro. Os resultados indicam que os docentes
caracterizam o bom Enfermeiro como aquele que é competente aos mais diversos níveis;
não descura o aperfeiçoamento profissional/ atualização contínua dos seus conhecimentos;
prima pela excelência no exercício da profissão; protege e defende a pessoa humana das
práticas que contrariem a lei a ética ou o bem comum; assume o dever de conhecer as
necessidades da população e da comunidade em que está inserido; colabora com outros
profissionais em programas que respondam às necessidades do doente/família/comunidade;
respeita a integridade bio-psicossocial, cultural e espiritual da pessoa; mantém um padrão
de conduta pessoal que dignifique a profissão; encontrando-se subentendidos os enfoques
da bioética: principalista, virtudes e o cuidar ético. Determinaram-se como fatores
facilitadores da boa prática a centralização do cuidado no utente; o levantamento
participativo das necessidades do doente, a competência profissional; o cuidado horizontal;
a proximidade terapêutica; a satisfação profissional; a autonomia profissional; e a
atualização dos conhecimentos, sendo que a centralização do cuidado na técnica; a
determinação externa das necessidades do doente; a incompetência profissional; o cuidado
vertical; o distanciamento terapêutico; a insatisfação profissional; a
subordinação/subserviência; e a estagnação dos conhecimentos, funcionam como entraves à
boa prática de enfermagem.

The research subjects were16 nurses, full-time teachers at UCP of Lisbon. At first, teachers were asked to choose from among a roster of pre-selected photographs that better express what it is like to be a nurse, justifying his choice then asked them to describe as a good nurse. The results indicate that faculty members characterize the good Nurse like that which has jurisdiction to all levels; do not neglect the training/continuous updating of their knowledge; look for the excellence in the practice of the profession; protects and defends the human person of practices that contradict the law ethics or the common good; assumes the duty to meet the needs of the population and the community in which it is inserted; collaborates with other professionals in programs that meet the needs the patient/family/community; respects the biopsychosocial, cultural and spiritual integrity of the person; maintains a standard of personal conduct that respects the profession; lying subtended approaches of bioethics: principlism, virtues and ethical care. Determined as factors facilitators of good practice the centralization of care in the wearer; the participatory assessment of patient needs; the professional competence; horizontal care; closeness therapy; job satisfaction; professional autonomy; and updating of knowledge; being that the centralization of care in technical; the external determination of the patient's needs; the professional incompetence; the vertical care; the therapeutic distance; professional dissatisfaction, tying/subservience; and the stagnation of knowledge, act as barriers to good nursing practice.
