O trabalho em apreço, com o título A influência da motivação e da satisfação
dos cuidadores formais no bem cuidar de idosos, parte da análise dos conceitos de
envelhecimento, velhice e gerontologia, em torno da dinâmica do lar familiar e do lar
institucional e, de modo particular, da prestação de cuidados e do papel dos cuidadores
neste último contexto. No âmbito da nossa pesquisa, procurámos aferir a perceção dos
cuidadores formais (auxiliares e enfermeiro) da valência Lar, da Santa Casa da
Misericórdia de Vila Franca do Campo (S. Miguel - Açores), no que se refere à
influência da motivação e da satisfação no bem cuidar, ou seja, no princípio da
beneficência. Trata-se de responder à seguinte problemática: Em que medida o bem
cuidar de idosos é influenciado pela motivação e pela satisfação dos cuidadores
formais? Verificou-se que a maioria dos profissionais considera que a sua motivação e
satisfação têm uma influência real na prestação de cuidados, sendo que as áreas a
necessitar de maior intervenção se centram na Relação com os Colegas e com a Chefia.
This investigation, entitled The influence of motivation and satisfaction of formal caregivers in elderly good care, starts analyzing the different concepts of oldness, aging and gerontology, the dynamics within the family home and the nursing home, particularly, the care and the role of caregivers in nursing home. As part of our research, we pursuit to assess the perception of formal caregivers (nurse and auxiliaries) at the Nursing Home of Santa Casa da Vila Franca do Campo (S. Miguel - Azores), regarding the influence of motivation and satisfaction in good care, that is, the principle of beneficence. We want to answer the following question: until what extent, well-care for the elderly is influenced by the motivation and the satisfaction of formal caregivers? We verify that most professionals consider that real caregiving is influenced by their motivation and satisfaction, being relationship between colleagues and with the administration the areas requiring more intervention
