Abstract(s)
This report is carried out within the scope of the Master's Degree in Nursing, in the area of specialization of Medical-Surgical Nursing, specifically in the provision of Nursing Care to the Person in Critical Situation. It integrates the training course developed in the internships carried out in the Medical Emergency Vehicle and Resuscitation (VMER) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a descriptive and reflective analysis of the activities performed that allowed me to develop and update previous competencies as well as acquire new skills, in the technical, scientific, ethical and relational dimensions, in the provision of specialized care to the Person in Critical Situation and his family. Always looking at an improvement in the care provided and a contribution to knowledge, a central theme was developed, centered on the family of the Person in critical situation, and their needs in the field of information, implemented by a Systematic Literature Review entitled "Information needs of the Family of the Person in Critical Situation". The disease process, with associated hospitalization, is never an isolated process for the Person in critical situation, being also experienced by their family so care should also be centered on the family, expanding the circle of attention of nurses, integrating the family in the care process. It is essential and necessary to intervene in this area, to support and care for the family of the Person in critical situation, assuming the Nurse Specialist an increased responsibility in the development of knowledge and as an agent of change, by promoting programs of improvement and quality of care provided. Afaf Meleis' theoretical framework allowed me to base all my thoughts and actions on a care delivery that was centered on the sick person and concretely on the family's information needs to experience transition processes.
