dc.description.abstractEtty Hillesum, uma rapariga judia de Amesterdão que viveu a experiência da extrema maldade humana, impõe-se-nos como uma das almas mais espantosas e iluminadas do século XX. Filha de pai holandês e mãe russa, Hillesum apresenta-nos inicialmente uma identidade ferida, marcada por um contexto existencial de fragmentação familiar e que se traduzia num alto grau de emotividade, défice de autoestima, acentuada insegurança afetiva e sexualidade desordenada. Através da influência do seu terapeuta Julius Spier, assistimos em Etty Hillesum ao desabrochar de outros aspetos da sua identidade, transformação que fará dos seus escritos o testemunho de uma grande sensibilidade religiosa, marcada por uma forte identidade mística. Nos últimos três anos da sua vida, no campo de trânsito nazi de Westerbork, Etty Hillesum faz a descoberta de um Deus pessoal, de liberdade e de fragilidade. Neste cenário de profunda dor, Hillesum vê-se impulsionada a ajudar Deus na carne daqueles que padecem as atrocidades da violenta perseguição. «Serei eu a ajudar Deus?» É na busca de uma resposta a esta pergunta inesperada que Etty Hillesum, com os olhos abertos para a humanidade lacerada, cultiva uma verdadeira mística do amor encarnado.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractEtty Hillesum, is a Jewish girl from Amsterdam that lived an experience of extreme humane cruelty. She strikes us as one of the most amazing and enlightened souls of the 20th century. Daughter of Dutch father and Russian mother, Hillesum presents us first a wounded identity, marked by an existential context of family fragmentation expressed in a high degree of emotivity, lack of self-steem, deep affective insecurity and inordinate sexuality. Whith the deep influence of her therapist Julius Spier, we see Etty Hillesum blooming other aspects of her identity that made her writings a testimony of a great religious sensibility marked by a deep mystical identity. On the last three years of her life, at the Nazi transit camp of Westerbork, Etty Hillesum makes a discovery of a personal God of freedom and frailty. On this scenary of extreme pain and sorrow, Hillesum sees herself impelled to help God on the flesh of those that suffered the atrocities of the violent persecution. «Shall be I helping God?» It is on the seek of a answer to this unexpected question that in Etty Hillesum, with open eyes to the lacerated humanity, grows a true mystic of the incarnated love.pt_PT
