Desde que surgiu, o futebol evoluiu e tornou-se um verdadeiro fenómeno a nível
mundial, tendo milhões de adeptos que acompanham e assistem diariamente este desporto. Os media online têm um papel muito importante em criar este entusiasmo, pois o futebol é um espetáculo que cativa as pessoas e gera interesse económico noutros setores. O futebol acaba por ser um pilar do jornalismo desportivo, o que, consequentemente, desvaloriza e desvia a atenção das restantes modalidades. A Bola, O Jogo e Record são três jornais portugueses dedicados ao mundo do desporto, produzindo diversos conteúdos desportivos. Esta investigação tem por base perceber de que forma são tratadas todas as modalidades ou se existe, de certa forma, uma hegemonia do futebol, elaborando uma comparação entre ambos. Após realizar uma recolha de dados no período de um mês (abril de 2023), contando com um total de 12.457 publicações, foi possível identificar que o futebol é a base destes três jornais e que as modalidades acabam por ter um papel secundário, no entanto, as
publicações extrafutebol também têm um papel importante no conteúdo publicado.
Since its inception, football has evolved and become a worldwide phenomenon, with millions of fans who follow and watch the sport daily. Online media play a very important role in creating this enthusiasm, as football is a spectacle that captivates people and generates economic interest in other sectors. Football has become a pillar of sports journalism, which consequently devalues and diverts attention from other sports. A Bola, O Jogo and Record are three Portuguese newspapers dedicated to the world of sport, producing various sporting content. This investigation is based on understanding how all modalities are treated or whether there is, in a certain way, a hegemony of football, making a comparison between football and other sports. After collecting data over a period of one month in April 2023, with a total of 12,457 publications, it was possible to identify that football is the basis of these three newspapers and that other sports end up playing a secondary role, however, non-football publications also play an important role in the content published.
