Abstract(s)
The present work, was conducted under the ambit of the curricular traineeship in a partnership between the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the company Unicer Bebidas, S.A., had the purpose of studying and research the bibliographic innovations on beverage packaging, in order to attract consumers increasingly demanding on purchase and provide a greater advantage over the competition. Initially, there was a more comprehensive and wide search, related to beverage packaging innovation at various levels, such as material, shape, size, functionality, marketing, graphic design, among others. Next, the research was focused primarily in the area of functionality beverage packaging, thinking about the usefulness and ease to use them by the consumer, thus facilitating the daily handling. This research was conducted in the Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where I had access to the items in the database that only there I could have access to them, as the b-on.pt and scientific publications. Also on Company Unicer Bebidas, S.A. where I had the opportunity to have the direct contact with the products produced there, and the processes involved in producing them, enabling me to do an research for beverage packaging different and innovative in order to be applied as an surplus value to their products. In this study, it appears with a greater enhancement, beverage packaging systems with an more functional and convenient appropriate to the style and pace of modern life, especially the methods of closure after opening the cans, as well as relating to restricted flow of liquid and swallowing sound. As highlight the work shows the importance of functional capsules for conservation the properties of the ingredients incorporated until the moment of consumption and also took into account alternative to PET materials, PEF as it has better thermal and barrier properties relative to PET, as well as the card and bioplastics which have the advantage of being more economical and biodegradable and therefore not harmful to the environment.
