Abstract(s)
Esta investigação analisa a tensão laboral e a necessidade de experiências de recuperação em
profissionais do comércio tradicional do norte de Portugal. Utilizaram-se três instrumentos: o
questionário sociodemográfico, a escala “The Recovery Experience” e a escala de Tensão
Laboral. A amostra é constituída por 236 participantes, sendo 32,2% do género masculino e
67,1% do género feminino. A maioria da amostra é de nacionalidade portuguesa (98,7%). A
idade varia entre os 17 anos e os 73 anos. A maioria dos participantes reside no distrito de
Braga (83,5%). Os resultados obtidos revelam que os níveis de tensão laboral são mais
elevados nos homens e nos profissionais do distrito de Viana do Castelo. Relativamente às
experiências de recuperação os resultados revelam correlações negativas entre os níveis de
relaxamento e o número de filhos, os níveis de desafio e a idade, os níveis de afastamento
psicológico e a escolaridade e por último, os níveis de controlo e o número de filhos. A tensão
laboral está negativamente correlacionada com o relaxamento, afastamento psicológico e o
controlo. Esta investigação alerta para a necessidade de se realizarem mais investigações
relacionadas com esta temática com o intuito de desenvolver estratégias de intervenção junto
destes profissionais.
This research analyzes the work strain and the need for recovery experience in professional of traditional trading of northern Portugal. Three instruments were used: the sociodemographic questionnaire, "The Recovery Experience" questionnaire and the Work Strain Questionnaire. The sample is composed of 236 participants, 32.2% are males and 67.1% females, aged between 17 and 73 years. Most of the sample is portuguese (98.7%) and live in Braga (83.5%). The results show that strain levels are higher in men and professionals from Viana do Castelo. The recovery experiments results show that the relaxation levels are negatively correlated with the number of children, challenge levels are negatively correlated with age, psychological clearance levels are negatively correlated with education levels and finally the control levels are negatively correlated whit the number of children. The work strain is negatively correlated with the relaxation, psychological clearance and control. This research alerts for the necessity of doing more investigations related to this topic to develop intervention strategies for these professionals.
