Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho surge no âmbito da unidade curricular Relatório inserida no Curso
de Mestrado em Enfermagem com especialização em Enfermagem em Saúde Infantil e
Pediátrica. Resulta de um processo de reflexão ao longo de três módulos de estágio
realizados na comunidade e em serviços de internamento. A temática desenvolvida foi a
Adaptação da criança/família à doença crónica gastrointestinal com necessidades
especiais de alimentação, com o objetivo de identificar as intervenções de enfermagem
promotoras dessa adaptação de modo a facilitar o crescimento, desenvolvimento e
integração na sociedade. As crianças são seres vulneráveis aos estímulos exteriores a
que estão sujeitas, e o aparecimento de uma doença crónica é um momento gerador de
stress. Algumas podem ainda apresentar necessidades especiais de alimentação, sendo
esta fundamental ao abordar a população pediátrica, pois é essencial ao seu crescimento.
Desenvolveu-se assim uma filosofia dos cuidados centrados na família, em que os pais
são tidos como parceiros nos cuidados de enfermagem sendo o EESIP o profissional
com mais competências para os incluir nos cuidados, estando alicerçado aos
pressupostos do Modelo de Adaptação da Irmã Callista Roy.
Como documentos realizados ao longo dos módulos de estágio, destaco a elaboração de
sessões de formação para profissionais de saúde dando a conhecer a problemática da
criança com gastrostomia e a importância de uma equipa multidisciplinar promovendo o
desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional; a distribuição de questionários pelos pais,
comprovando a necessidade da existência de uma consulta de enfermagem para
crianças/famílias que realizarão exames gastrenterológicos; elaboração de documentos
para a continuidade de cuidados e para a articulação entre o hospital pediátrico e o
hospital de adultos de referência; construção de um KIT “O meu filho tem uma
gastrostomia: que preciso de saber?”. Tive a oportunidade de adquirir e aperfeiçoar
determinadas competências salientando a capacidade de utilizar as diversas técnicas de
comunicação no relacionamento com a criança/família, adequando ao estádio de
desenvolvimento; intervir na comunidade; fazer uma gestão diferenciada da dor;
referenciar a criança/família com doença crónica para as instituições de suporte;
envolver os pais na prestação de cuidados, promovendo a autonomia no cuidado ao RN.
The present work was established on the grounds of curricular unit and Report based on the Postgraduate Degree in Nursing with the specialization in Nursing within Pediatric Health. It is a result of a process of contemplation throughout the three modules of internship undertaken in the community and the inpatient services. The these that was developed was the Adaptation of the child/family to the chronic gastrointestinal disease with special feeding necessities, with the objective of identifying the nursing interventions to ease and promote said adaptation towards facilitating growth, development and integration in society in general. Children are extremely vulnerable beings influenced by external stimulus to which they are subject to; and the onset of a chronic disease has an impact generating significant stress. Some may even be diagnosed with special feeding needs, which will be crucial in the approach made by the pediatric population as this will be essential for their growth. Hence the development of a philosophy which centers on the care given within the family, where parents are treated as partners of the caregivers, in other words, the SNPH professionals with the competences to include them in the care being provided, centered upon the principles of Sister Callista Roy’s Model of Adaptation. As documents that were prepared during the internship modules, the foremost would be the coaching sessions for health professionals that taught the problematic of the child associated with the gastronomy and the importance of a multidisciplinary team to promote the personal and professional development; the distribution of the questionnaires to parents, demonstrating the need of having nursing appointments with children/families in order to have gastroenterological exams performed; creating documents for the continued care and articulation between the pediatric hospital and the adult hospital of reference; producing the KIT “My child has a gastrostomy tube: what do I need to know?”. I was further able to acquire and improve certain competences namely the ability to use different communicating techniques in building the relationship with the child/family, adapting this to the development stages; intervene in the community; in being able to differentiate pain management; refer the child/family with chronic disease to the relevant support institutions; to involve the parents in the health care being provided, therefore promoting care giving autonomy of the newborn.
