Abstract(s)
This document is an account of the theoretical and practical skills obtained during the Master's Degree in Dentistry at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Aims to examine critically all the clinical activity, performed by me during the 5th year, being a reflection on my progressive training, having in mind the development of social and technical skills, aimed at improving the service to the patient. The Clinical Activity Report includes all the clinical practice and it characterizes the patients seen in the different clinical subjects. This is a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the clinical activity performed, with a description of the course of treatment and associated pathology. The characterization of the service provided facilitates critical thinking and develops a broader view on the various possibilities of diagnosis, multidisciplinary need in our area and the requirement of the evaluation of the patient as a whole. This approach allows students to expand their clinical experience and provides a consolidation of the theoretical knowledge acquired during their academic studies. The skills obtained during these five years are the foundation for future clinical practice and the integration in the labour market. It is essential to view that the developed integrated clinical activity is the starting point for a continued training, to the application of substantial learned fundamentals and the incorporation of new knowledge relevant to clinical optimization in the field of dentistry.
