Abstract(s)
Nowadays, the challenge and importance of workfamily enrichment (WFE) have become evident, as the practice of various roles can lead to enrichment, resulting in a series of positive consequences for individuals. The aim of this study is to understand the extent to which Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Career Adaptability (CA) are personal resources for workfamily enrichment among adults in the labor market, controlling for the effect of structural variables such as gender and age. The participants were 285 adults, mostly female (n = 214; 75.1%), aged between 18 and 64, with an average age of 35 (SD = 11.53). The participants answered a sociodemographic questionnaire, as well as the Wong and Law EI Scale (WLEIS), Career Adaptabilities Scale (CAAS) and WorktoFamily Enrichment (WFES). Statistically significant positive correlations were found between the ETF and all the dimensions of EI and CA. Age also showed a positive and statistically significant relationship with the ETF and EI, but no relationship was found with CA. There were also statistically significant differences between the sexes in the three variables under study, with males having higher ETF, EI and AC values than females. This study also confirmed that EI and AC are statistically significant predictors of ETF. It highlights the need for work and business contexts to invest in the development of these skills.
