Abstract(s)
The current dissertation aims to discuss the thematic of the migration process and refugees in the context of Christian Community in Portugal and in the world. To investigate the study’s object was proposed the following question: Which do Theological Ethic Norms need to be created in accordance with holy scripture, for frontiers to be open and, thus, the migrant and the refugee have freedom to enjoy their right to come and go? From this questioning, it has carried out in methodological terms a bibliographic review to clarify concepts, and establish a historiographic dialogue, by a diachronic perspective, on migration and refugees’ history in the 21 century, based on theoretical framework: Haas (2021), Murray (2018), Vaquero (2023). Furthermore, it has been done a detailed study, about theoretical reference of Humanística Journal and Theology (2016), in different authors: Magda Mello (2016), Natacha Becker (2016),among them Jorge Cunha (2016) with thematic: Refugees and Immigrant in the life frontier, essential basis to categorize, to nominate, to classify migration’s terms and the theoretical foundation, and eventually, it has been used an interview with Mariana Barbosa (Cunha 2016) on refugees and migrants. It is essential to point out to the reader that this journey of bibliographic review allows us to discuss the migration’s question and establishes a dialogue with the sacred in a diachronic way. To understand this complexity of the migration universe, the semi structured interview has been done to collect data from a migrant in the world. In order to succeeded, in this investigative journey, the general objective of this research was to realize: (1) Migration and Refugees’ process in the 21 century and some of the its contours; (2) ourselves while autochthonous in front of migration and refuge, by authors who deal with the theme; (3) migration’ process and refugee in the context of the holy scripture, by characters; (4) human beings’ condition, if we are nomads and sedentary, with special attention to both Portuguese context and autochthonous gypsies; (5) the church’s role in the migration and refugee’s process and to exercise sympathy and empathy; (6) the theological ethic norms must lead the autochthonous, the migrants and the refugees and specific objective is to analyze the bibliographic content and to elaborate theological ethic norms, to guide the migration and refuge in the border crossing, because we believe that frontiers must be opened , in cohesion way, to welcome the migrant and refugee in simultaneous and do not unprotect the autochthonous. In this creation process, we understand that it is mainly to establish a dialogue with fundamental norms in the holy scripture, because we believe that there is no superior the norms, to guide the world’s migration and the refugees. To raise such norms, we look at the life of some characters of sacred scripture: the Queen Esther of the Persian, Ruth and Moabite, Naomi the Israelite, Joseph the Israelite, migrant in Egypt and Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the greatest migrant and refugee the world has known.
