Influência da negligência parental no desenvolvimento de perturbação antissocial da personalidade em adultos emergentes

| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho tem como intuito explorar a influência da negligência parental na infância no desenvolvimento de Perturbação Antissocial da Personalidade em adultos emergentes. De facto, sofrer experiências adversas na infância, nomeadamente negligência parental, impacta o desenvolvimento destas crianças e acarreta consequências ao longo da vida das mesmas. Assim esta investigação procurou estudar esta influência tendo a amostra sido constituída por 210 indivíduos com uma média de 22 anos de idade (DP = 2.93), de nacionalidade portuguesa. Como instrumentos foram utilizados o questionário sociodemográfico, a Escala de Agressão Impulsiva e Premeditada, a Life History of Aggression, o Questionário da História de Adversidades na Infância, a Escala de Dificuldades na Regulação Emocional, o NEOFive Factor Inventory, a Triarchic Psychopathy Measure e a Antisocial Process Screening Device – SelfReport. A recolha de dados foi realizada em formato online e os resultados encontrados demostraram que sofrer negligência durante a infância impacta de forma negativa estas crianças. Nomeadamente, foi identificado que sofrer negligência deixava as crianças negligenciadas mais propensas a desenvolver comportamentos antissociais agressivos, uma maior frieza emocional e maior desregulação emocional. Além disso, ao nível das diferenças entres sexos as mulheres apresentaram comportamentos antissociais menos agressivos e os homens maiores níveis de ousadia e malvadez. Desta forma, torna-se crucial a intervenção precoce com crianças que sofreram negligência para que possam ser atenuados os efeitos desta experiência adversa na infância. Já para estudos futuros sugere-se a utilização de uma amostra maior e sobretudo com mais participantes que tenham sofrido negligência para que os resultados sejam mais representativos. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | This study aims to explore the influence of parental neglect in childhood on the development of antisocial personality disorder in emerging adults. In fact, suffering adverse experiences in childhood, namely parental neglect, impacts the development of these children and has consequences throughout their lives. This research therefore sought to study this influence. The sample consisted of 210 individuals with an average age of 22 (SD = 2.93), of Portuguese nationality. The instruments used were a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Impulsive and Premeditated Aggression Scale, the Life History of Aggression, the History of Childhood Adversities Questionnaire, the Emotional Regulation Difficulties Scale, the NEOFive Factor Inventory, the Triarchic Psychopathy Measure and the Antisocial Process Screening Device SelfReport. The data was collected online and the results showed that suffering neglect during childhood has a negative impact on these children. It was found that suffering neglect made neglected children more likely to develop aggressive antisocial behaviour, greater emotional coldness and greater emotional dysregulation. In addition, in terms of gender differences, females showed less aggressive antisocial behaviour and males showed higher levels of boldness and meanness. Early intervention with children who have suffered neglect is therefore crucial in order to mitigate the effects of this adverse childhood experience. For future studies, we suggest using a larger sample and, above all, more participants who have suffered neglect so that the results are more representative. | eng |
