Esta dissertação teve como objeto de estudo os jovens portugueses residentes no cantão de Zurique. É dado adquirido que a nova geração está a perder o vínculo para com a Igreja. De forma a podermos garantir a própria sobrevivência da Igreja e a contrariar a tendência negativa que se vive em Zurique, torna-se urgente atuar.
O objetivo passou, primeiramente, por analisar o contexto em que estes jovens vivem e trabalham e depois perceber a forma como eles se relacionam e como veem a sociedade e as instituições, em particular a Igreja. Feita esta análise e identificados os pontos onde é urgente intervir, foram propostas algumas orientações e sugestões para serem implementadas na pastoral juvenil da Missão Católica Portuguesa de Zurique.
Para uma maior credibilidade nas respostas, foi utilizado um método de pesquisa com entrevistas não presenciais.
Este estudo obteve resultados interessantes. Um deles é que a frequência da Igreja por parte dos jovens portugueses, embora seja baixa, está acima da média. Além disso, eles continuam a ver a Igreja como uma instituição importante e necessária, mas exigem dela atualização, abertura e compreensão.
O resultado deste projeto foi muito positivo pois permitiu abrir portas a uma pastoral juvenil mais eficaz. Se soubermos onde atuar e como atuar, possivelmente os problemas futuros poderão ser minorados, e acima de tudo, poderemos ter uma geração mais comprometida com a Igreja.
This dissertation had as object of study the young portuguese residents in the canton of Zurich. Today we can see that the new generation is losing the connection with the Church. In order to guarantee the survival of the Church and to counter the negative tendency in Zurich, it is urgent to act. The intention was first to analyze the context in which these young people live and work and then to understand the way they get along with each other and how they see the society and institutions, specifically the Church. After this analysis and the identification of the points where it is urgent to act, some guidelines and suggestions were proposed in order to be implemented in the Youth Pastoral Ministry of the Portuguese Catholic Mission in Zurich. For more credible answers, the data collection method that was used was a web based survey. This results of this study were interesting. One is that the Church attendance by the young Portuguese, even if it is low, is above average. Furthermore, they continue to see the Church as an important and necessary institution, but they demand an adjustment, openness and understanding. The result of this project was very positive because it opened the door to a more effective Youth Pastoral Ministry. If we know where and how to act, the future problems could perhaps be reduced, and above all, we might have a generation more engaged to the Church.
