| dc.description.abstract | O terrorismo islâmico surge como um fenómeno recente e impactante na Europa, que neste momento procura evoluir nas suas práticas de desradicalização e dessensibilização. O objetivo geral desta investigação (inserida no projeto internacional MATES) é compreender a perceção de indivíduos muçulmanos sobre o fenómeno, de forma a contribuir para as estratégias de desradicalização dos jovens jihadistas, fomentando a sua integração social. O método reflete a metodologia qualitativa, enquadrando cinco participantes (dois representantes de Imã, uma mulher muçulmana, e dois ex-militantes); os dados foram recolhidos através de uma entrevista semiestruturada em profundidade e submetidos a análise de conteúdo, com suporte do software NVIVO 11®. Os resultados demonstram a dissociação estabelecida pelos participantes entre terrorismo e religião islâmica; estes referiram como principais causas para a radicalização: a exclusão social, sentimentos de desilusão para com o ocidente, e a má interpretação do Islão. Como principais estratégias de desradicalização foi enfatizado o combate à discriminação, o apoio na inclusão social e a transmissão de uma narrativa alternativa, com o envolvimento da comunidade islâmica. Concluindo, a comunidade islâmica está preocupada com este fenómeno e disposta a trabalhar no processo de desradicalização. É preciso continuar a desenvolver estes programas e envolver a comunidade islâmica nos mesmos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Islamic terrorism emerges as a recent and striking phenomenon in Europe, which at the moment seeks to evolve in its practices of de-radicalization and desensitization. The general objective of this research (inserted in the MATES international project) is to understand the perception of Muslim individuals about the phenomenon, in order to contribute to the strategies of de-radicalization of the young jihadists, fomenting their social integration. The method reflects the qualitative methodology, framing five participants (two representatives of Imam, one Muslim woman, and two ex-militants); the data were collected through an in-depth semi-structured interview and submitted to content analysis, supported by NVIVO 11® software. The results demonstrate the dissociation established by the participants between terrorism and the Islamic religion; the main causes of radicalization: social exclusion, feelings of disillusionment with the West, and misinterpretation of Islam. The main strategies for de-radicalization were the fight against discrimination, support for social inclusion and the narrative, with the involvement of the Islamic community. In conclusion, the Islamic community is concerned about this phenomenon and is willing to work on the de-radicalization process. We must continue to develop these programs and involve the Islamic community in them. | pt_PT |
